             *Efficiency index accounts for fertility of dam, calf survival, calf growth rate, as a function of cow size
             *100 kg cow joined refers to-   Carrying capacity of country should not be expressed as beasts per hectare rather as   100 kg of beasts per hectare.

        Larger cows require higher maintenance to produce the same amount of calf therefore reducing carrying capacity per hectare.

               Other results from the Clay Centre show the Boran :
                         *scored higher than the Brahman and European breeds in percentage of carcass grading USDA Choice.
                         *has less bone -13.5% compared to 14.5%(Hereford)14.3%(Angus)
                         *more tender and juicy than the Brahman.
                         *for marbling the Borans were similar to Herefords
