Cows have excellent teats and udder conformation. Easy calvers that ensure high weaning weights no matter what the season. Their strong herding and mothering instincts protect the calf.
Borans are generally more docile and tractable than other Zebu breeds. Only cows with newborn calves are slightly different because they will protect their offspring.
Extremely adaptable to differing environmental conditions while remaining fully productive. Normal culling is at 10-11 years for butcher cow carcass quality. Consistent breeders of 25 years of age exist. Replacement rate of breeding herd is very low.
